Old historic home, declare national monument in 1978 with direct alley of Architectural Heritage, built by Carlo Antonio Usellini in 1783 and designed by an unknown Dutch architect . The oldest part of the House dates back to 1530. Used as a residence for nearly a century, in the early 1900s undergoes major restructuring to become summer residence. The house has been featured in many of Gianfilippo Usellini (1903-1971) paintings, and many different angles can be recognized in his works. The Palace housed also Guglielmo Usellini (1906 – 1958), founder of the European Federalist Movement, together with Jean Monnet and Spinelli. The house is still to these days inhabited by members of the Family Usellini. During the summer it hosts some cultural events such as concerts of classical music and theater pieces. The house hosts also the office of the company Usellini Restorations. Here you can find us: BY CAR: The exit is Castelletto Ticino (E62/A26 Milan - Gravellona Toce freeway) coming from Milan, Como and Varese; Arona coming from Genoa and Turin freeway. Follow the signs towards Arona for about 5 km. Once in town, continue along the lake to Piazza del Popolo; the first sidestreet on the right is via Pertossi. At the end of the Piazza del Popolo, two big free parking area are located on both sides of the road that leads out of the city. BY TRAIN: via Pertossi is 500 meters walk from the station, walk on the pedestrian street where all the shops are located, until you reached the Piazza del Popolo. If you have heavy luggages, we also come to pick you up!
