Excellent food, excellent service, Very helpful and friendly members of the team. Me and my friend attended just to enjoy the last Bank Holiday with a meal. I would definitely recommend Lala's in Batley.

Really disappointed that I am having to leave this review as usually I would rate it very highly. Unfortunately I am in utter disbelief that they could take money off me from what I received this evening. I waited just over TWO hours for cold food, not even slightly warmed, cold. I called the order in at 17:51 and received it at 20:00. Even my children wouldn’t eat what they had been eagerly waiting for so I had to make them a meal anyway. As for mine I did warm it up but I had gone past the hungry stage and didn’t enjoy it at all. The korma was very spicy (I get Kormas as I don’t like spice! Usually Lala’s give it a slight spiciness but just enough for someone like me that can’t handle it!). Only thing that wasn’t fit for the bin was the popadoms. I would have preferred it if they would have said they were really busy and couldn’t take any more orders until X time, but now it has left me not wanting to order anything again. The standard of my food tonight was an embarrassment for any business to dish out and charge for.
Absolutely loved this place! So accommodating and clean. Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make u feel comfortable. The food was remarkable, deffo reccomend!:)
I do like this restaurant, but comparing it to others out there, I don't think it deserves a 4. I had an old school curry this past week and found it poor quality. The meat was \meh\, the onions in it was terribly cooked and of poor quality, as if they had been in the pantry for a few weeks too long and near the stems were a bit \woody\, and the flavour for me wasn't as good as compared to the same dish I have eaten elsewhere. As a modern Asian eatery, again, I do feel there are better out there if you like modern dishes catered for the \English clientele\. I have had a few curries from here over the past decade or so and enjoyed the vast majority of them, but I really can't rate this place higher than average. If eating in, the setting is quite nice, the staff are helpful enough. Parking can be a bit of a mare and is a gamble if you can get a spot in the tiny car park at the side, and that is if you don't get someone just ditching their car in the middle or at the entrance on the pavement, and takeaways free within 3 miles if you spend over 10. If at a push we decide to have a take away (which doesn't happen often), and undecided what to have, this is one of the first names to come up. Middle of the road when comes to flavour, some curries are ok, some are poor and it's rare I get a poor quality curry. I think every Asian restaurant is allowed at least 1 or 2 poor curries once in a while. It's one of those places, I will never say never again, but I won't say I'll go back here either.
Fantastic curry restaurant. Ate here as part of a large group of 20 and the food and service was top rate. It's a BYO booze but they have a corkscrew/bottle opener so it's easy. The naans are HUGE so you'll only need one if there are 2 of you. Also, the portions are big so you can easily share a starter too. And the food is really delicious. Highly recommended.
