An authentic Mangalore style restaurant in kammanhalli. This is my go to destination whenever I am in the mood for some seafood. I used to be a fan of the crab sukha served here but during my last visit the dish looked and tasted completely different. Upon enquiring got to know that the chef changed. The prices are decent and affordable. Never saw this place overcrowded. The food is served in banana leaves as shown in the pictures. I just Hope that the previous crab recipe is back.

Quality : Observed overall consistency in flavour and ingredients. Very impressed with the Neer dosa, It was thin yet wasn't stuck to each other like rice paper and the Mango curry is original. Didn't check if this was seasonal. Taste : Prawn masala and Squid ghee roast - Prawns still had the smell of the sea. Which means it was considerably fresh given the geographic location of Bangalore. Squid had a great texture but lacked the flavour of ghee. The masala paste dominated the overall taste. Neer Dosa - Even thinness and texture. Very happy with this in particular. Fish curry meals - Raw mango and coconut chutney was refreshing considering all the masala in the other dishes. All other accompanying sides as part of the meal had the freshness/flavour of a home cooked meal. Quantity : One portion of mains easily serves two. Value for money : 4.5 out of 5. FYI As of now they only take cash. That's how new this place is. Presentation : Clean and simple. Generously sized banana leaves really set the stage. Service : Polite. Very important. Cleanliness : A new place so everything was shiny. Dishes were clean. Only time will tell. I left the place with a sense of being full and satisfied but not stuffed. All the flavours were in place nothing was over the top. Nothing too spicy (for the Indian pallet) or salty. It felt unadulterated. I hope they maintain the overall quality that exists as of now. A revisit is in order to see if this experience holds up.

Best mangalorean cuisine. Fish food fans must try Squid Ghee Roast, Anjal Tawa Fry. Chicken Ghee Roast also is great. Very reasonable rates. Must try once.

About Vanas restaurant I had heard from one of my friend that they prepare & serve very tasty fish dishes, I wanted to experience so visited and found what my friend had told was TRUE, staffs are very courteous and taste is Awsome, its purely like home cooked dishes, you get all variety of manglorean fish dishes. Parking is available on road.

Crazy interiors.. loved the way the food was served.. wooden concept.. I would give a 5/5 for their cleanliness.. The authentic food is not available all days.. So check on that before u head there.

Simple and cosy place.. my husband said this is the best "value for money" place. Tried fish thali.. better than expected for 100 rupees.. and punarpuli / kokum.. wasn't chilled so don't enjoy as expected. Servers are very good.. overall almost felt like home cooked meal.. liked it a lot. Will go back soon..
