The staff was friendly, the equipments were well maintained. But the queue was long. So, if you're up for a walk and the weather permits, you may want to climb up (either the shorter route or the longer one, which was also worth it for the scenery).

A great way to reach to Citta Alta town centre. Will cost you 1.50 and only a short wait for a very scenic ride to the town up top. Tickets are valid for 45 minute after validation. Seating is limited and only small carriages, but the trip is very quick and smooth. If you wish to walk you can walk around the city to the north entrance.

Great way to ascend to the Citta Alta. We had time left on our last day so made an impromptu trip here. It was worth it. The bus ticket is accepted on this train so it was effectively free. There are two funicular railways which take you to the top.

Nice service, it’s get crowded at noon time. Better to arrive early

The funicular works fine, but is overwhelmed by tourists in summer months. Unless you have mobility issues, I'd highly recommend taking the stairs up to the old town unless you're happy waiting half an hour to get on
