If you're interested in how life was like from the early middle ages on in this region of Germany this is a cool place to visit. The reconstructed homesteads are very authentic as everything looks hand-hewned and the actors looks like they are living their lives in these old times. Really cool. There was also some men making a castle wall using historical methods.

Marvelous place - I took martial arts seminar here and the place is really beautiful. The buildings are really well and practically made with a high level of historical authenticity and with vivid interiors. The surrounding is great with water, plants, gardens, living animals. The museum shop is also nice, offering literature, souvenirs, authentic historical gear and run by a really nice personnel. The museum is divided into a 14th century village that is still growing, building by building and an early medieval village with a church, several fully equipped buildings and with a dominant - motte and bailey castle. Behind the village, there are pagan idols that make a really interesting atmosphere and a small stream , ending in a pond that divides the two villages from different centuries.
