I've been going there since 2010. Back then the state ran it. We always tried to stay at cabin #4. It faces the water. All my pictures are of cabin 4. Except my fishing pictures. There is a dock for each of the cabins to tie your boat up. There are 2 boat ramps. 1 is much better the the other. More room to maneuver. Sometimes there is a fishing tournament. And it gets crowded at the dock and on the water. There is a full kitchen with everything you need. Just bring the food. There is a Piggly Wiggly in town if you forget anything. The beds are on the small size (I'm 6-1), but comfortable. All the linen is furnished. We stopped going there in 2015. That's when Alabama decided to close 5 state parks. Funny thing they were all in south Alabama? If you didn't make reservations ahead of time for this park you didn't get a cabin. I made ours 1 year in advanced. Now the park is run by a company. They have added some tiny camping cabins. Great place to take the family!

We stay here all the time during the fall and winter and are extremely satisfied with the place. The staff is super friendly and they remember you which makes you want to continue coming back. The bathrooms and showers are ALWAYS clean and stocked. Can't stress enough of how nice this place is.

We stayed at Roland Cooper State Park in December 2020. We loved this campground! It was well-maintained and the sites were a good distance apart. We had a site overlooking the river and it was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed walking the trails with our dogs during the day and sitting by the fire at night. Will definitely visit this campground again.

I stayed in cabin #21 and it was so impressive! I wasn’t expecting to find such a clean, well kept place waiting for me, just like a motel room everything provided from the time you open the door I even had a screened in front porch, lol it opened into a large living room/kitchen/dining area; then walk through hallway, immediately to your left was the largest bathroom with shower that I’ve ever seen; go down hallway to a very large bedroom ready for me to just relax and enjoy!! Did not have to worry about anything except bringing whatever food I wanted to eat, how marvelous is that?! I also enjoyed nature at its finest, a walk around the campsite meeting new people, smell of clean air, hear sound of water in the lake and birds to me it’s a place I intend to come to more often plus, you can’t beat the staff who run the place, they make you feel special and really are helpful if/when you need it..I highly recommend Roland Cooper State Park! You’ll love it too!

This is our first time at Roland Cooper and we love it! It is so quiet and so peaceful. Lots of birds and beautiful nature to photograph. Not bad fishing either! We will definitely be back!
