This is the most beautiful place. It is so relaxing to be. The view is breathtaking. Walking on the trails makes you feel peaceful. It is interesting how the temperature changes a lot when we got nearby the mountain. It feels a lot cooler. You will find some amazing rocks and there are areas perfect for picnics and camping areas. The rock formation is beautiful.

I recently visited the park it’s just as pretty as I remember 20 years ago. The first time I came here was with Boy Scouts we were lucky enough to have a USGS geologist as a parent, so he taught us a lot about the history of what we were seeing. Only pro tip I can suggest is BE PREPARED! It gets hot in the summer but it gets VERY windy here! As a scout there was 2 of us in the tent with our bags, we went to sleep when it was windy, but we woke up to our tent being blown away, while we were inside. It was one of the most memorable Scouting stories. Use your tent stakes!

A beautiful peaceful experience every time! So quiet, set back far enough from the 14 that you hear nothing! Our weekly get away!

Pros: Beautiful view, shorter hikes, and tons of space to wonder around. Cons: 6 admission is a little joke since you can't drive on 80% of the park roads now (assuming barriers were from staff cuts from COVID). Cash only, no pen to use the required paper envelope. Tons of broken glass and bullet shells even in remote areas.

Trail is nice and clean and easy to follow. Not to busy. Absolutely no restrooms go before you get there.
