The food, although hot right out of the wok, is average at best. We ordered 6 dishes (not shown in the pics, the honey fried prawns) and I only really enjoyed 2 of them, the fried pepper pork chops and the braised eggplant. Those were actually really good, the eggplant went down well with white rice and the fried pork chops were well seasoned and crispy. The rest of the dishes, especially the sizzling "hot" plate, left a lot to be desired. The hot plate was not heated enough to induce the desired sizzle sound so that was a little disappointing (a bit childish I know, but as the saying goes, we eat with our ears first). No worries, I can look past that if it tasted good... It tasted meh. The sauce was too sweet, overpowering the ingredients (was only onions and meat, but never underestimate the power of a nice fresh onion) and the beef was on the tougher side. Hot tea is provided in a thermos, and as always is pleasant to have with this type of food (actually hot tea goes well with a lot of things). On a side note, we arrived at a time when it was not too busy, indicated by Google reviews, so service was actually fine. It would have been nice if they provided us with an English menu that also included pictures. I didn't bother to ask for one but I would assume they have one. Food is cheap, but not significantly less so than surrounding restaurants, you're still looking at around 15-20 per person if you're eating out in a group and ordering many dishes. It's a lot cheaper if you only order a single dish. Otherwise food is fine, if a bit mediocre at times. Might come back again to try more of their menu.

Never disappoints. Great food, value and service. Best beef and chicken fried rice for the kids... Highly recommend the salt and pepper pork chop. Most dishes under 10 bucks!

With my friend I experienced something new, horrible, terrible, and rude by a lady who was supposed to be the boss of the place. Agree with many of the 1 star reviews here. Wasn't even busy with empty tables but telling us to leave because there is a time limit. Felt sorry for the staff who obviously were embarrassed with the time limit. Very low quality food anyway. Never go back. Would give it 0 star if it was possible. Obviously they don't consider customers who pay for their business to be of great value.

Affordable Chinese food with variety of options to choose from. They have an A5 size for menu wise. So anything you want is available. It's 4 star because it's affordable and the taste of the food it's not too bad at all. The serving size is a good portions. Good place to take away too

The last bastion of awesome Hongky food in Chatswood with Victoria restaurant gone. My go to is minced beef on plain rice with egg, any congee with egg (again), steamed sticky rice with meat and herbs filling, chicken Maryland with gravy mushrooms and spaghetti , I could go on and on. This place is good for quick dine in, be quick as turnovers for next customers are fast.

For some reason Hong Kong food always reminds me of uni days, and this place doesn’t disappoint me in that nostalgic aspect. Had the baked pork chop with fried rice since it was listed under “chef’s recommendations,” and I have to say it doesn’t disappoint. Would have been nice if it had a bit more rice, but otherwise can’t complain. They have a couple of big round tables that fit 7-8 people so that’s a plus. Another thing of note is, if you need to use the elevator then be sure to press M for Mezzanine level to get here.

The main appeal to Hong Kong Kitchen is the price of the food and atmosphere (very reflective of the old school Hong Kong Cafes). - Cheap Food; you will find plenty of choices under 15 dollars. - Recommended drinks; Hong Kong styled milk tea or the lemon tea. - Recommended foods; oven baked pork chop & rice. However, to be aware of the service and the setting of the store. - Old furniture; some of the seats are broken so it might be uncomfortable. - Service is very fast; they will come and get your plate as soon as you finish eating. It's not really a place to relax and chill with your friends after a meal.
