Good wide access ramp and parking. A wide gentle sloping beach with exposed sand at high water and a rock breakwater providing shelter. The Clacton Boat Club was established by a group of keen local sea anglers, and is primarily aimed at owners of sports fishing boats, and was established by its founding members to provide access to a good launch site and ensure the availability of a suitable launch vehicle all year round, while keeping membership fees to a minimum. Membership of an approved club, such as Clacton Boat Club is required by the local council to obtain access to the launching ramps. The council also forbid the use of private vehicles on the beach. The launch vehicle, currently a 6 tonne Benford dumper with the bucket removed, is well maintained, with minimal downtime.
