Arrived at the end of the Buffet window on a Sunday afternoon with a friend. The restaurant was mostly empty when we entered and the hostess/waitress informed us of what little time remained and invited us to look at the food prior to making a decision. We decided to stay and she sat us down at the table and took our drink order. Although only having a limited amount of selection (12-14 choices approximately) what they had was pretty good. None of the vegetables in 3 of the dishes I tried were overcooked, they had just the right amount of crisp left in them, the chicken balls were nice and crunchy, some other restaurants the batter is much softer and greasy, the battered shrimp were of a large size as well as the chicken wings. The Wonton soup in my opinion was very well done. The broth had plenty of flavour with a good balance of dumpling to meat ration. Western Chinese food is not 5 start cuisine but everything just seemed to be well done with the right flavours and textures The food was good however the most enjoyable aspect of the dinning experience was the service. Despite our poor timing for lunch, she was very warm and charming, creating an inviting atmosphere. She was attentive to our table, dirty plates cleared immediately regardless of the fact that she preparing for the supper rush. She made us feel welcomed throughout our meal, creating conversation whenever she came around, she never made us feel rushed or pressured to hurry up and leave. Very enjoyable. It was a good lunch and will return.

I dropped in having noticed the buffet was only 9.99. Was pleasantly surprised as the selection was good and everything was very well prepared. Good desserts too. Service excellent. I will come back whenever I am in Courtenay
I have no clue what that Rob guy is talking about. I saw his review and instantly thought "Wow this guy is definitely a huge troll or from another restaurant trying to downtalk this one." I ordered delivery today, and for the distance, they only charged 7. That's seriously not that much for a local business. It arrived in tip top quality and the food was very good. Not too bland, not too salty, and was delicious. I had a very fulfilling dinner tonight thanks to this restaurant. I suggest you order the sweet and sour pork. Thanks for din din
Great good. Really friendly staff. Great for kids. They let us know we ordered too much inadvance did not try and over sell us. The food was 9.5 out of 10. We ordered off the menu not the buffet.
The buffet was fresh, hot, well-stocked and featured a pleasing variety of dishes. Especially appreciated all the seafood offerings and dim sum. My kids really enjoyed the self-serve ice cream freezer. Waiters were very attentive and efficient.
I hope that they find a chef that can actually prepare proper Chinese food, what i got for 50.00 was terrible, only hope my dogs survive eating the left overs, which was pretty much the whole order. the chicken looked like it was boiled and the appearance on the plate looked like boiled duck. I dont normally write reviews but this was so bad i can't believe they are still in operation. just hoping i don;t need to head to the hospital when i digest this crap......really, how can you deliver this, the chefs should hang their heads in shame. The buffet is awful. The food is either old just black in the warmer forever or no food at all and over priced. Must be new owner. Peace
The food was fresh and tasty. The service was very friendly. We are vegan and when we realized there was pork in the ma po tofu dish we ordered, they offered to exchange it right away.
