Lovely place for a walk. There is a good signage to fill you in on the history. Parking is a bit tight you may have to wait for a space.

If you find yourself about Downpatrick pop round to here. Nice spot for a walk around and great views
Love Inch Abbey, especially in the summer. Such history on our doorstep and the view isn't bad either.
Not much to the Abbey itself but great views over lake, I imagine the area would be good for birding. Not much space in the car park and the road up has only room for one car most of the way.
The remains of this 12th century Cistercian abbey sit in a very picturesque location beside the river Quoile, with views across to the Hill of Down and the Church of Ireland cathedral. Apart from the chancel of the church, most of the buildings only exist at the level of the foundations. However, it's a very standard Cistercian layout and it's easy to identify the various parts, like the chapter house, frater, bake house, etc., especially making use of the very helpful interpretive panels.
