This was my first experience of an escape room, and I've since done quite a few different ones. We visited this one as part of a hen party and we had a really good time. The room we did was challenging but doable, and some of the clues and tasks were very creative. The overall experience was very entertaining. Great fun, and something a bit different. Definitely would recommend a visit.

Went here for a stag do. Great craic and we escaped from from prison break with 2 seconds to go

Puzzles and concepts are fun - I've been to a couple of rooms, a couple of years apart and the latest time I went, it felt like the facilities were lacking in maintenance. The bridge you walk along to get into the building was poorly lit and had sunken planks which were covered with loose boards. The game itself had to also be reset because of a technical failure. As I say, I think the games are good and are lots of fun but I feel more upkeep of the premises would beneficial.

(Visited Nov 19) I took advantage of The Escape Room’s Black Friday deal which reduced the price from 20.00 to 13.00 per person. Two of us went to play Slaughterhouse and Room 13 back-to-back, and we can both definitely say we’re glad to not have paid any more than this. As an experienced pair, we completed Slaughterhouse with around a quarter of the time left, and without any clues. The first puzzle had us stumped for a while, but then the rest was more or less a breeze. There wasn’t a huge variety of challenges: pretty much all of them involved finding a numerical code of some sort. That being said, there was one directional lock, but the equipment needed to solve it was very frayed which made life unnecessarily difficult. The introduction to Room 13 was frustratingly confusing. We needed a hint to be told where the game actually started. Again, after this, we were on our way and escaped with plenty of time left on the clock. I liked the darkness aspect of this room, but, other than that, the story, scenery, props and ambience were uninspiring. Neither room felt immersive, and the ‘flick the switch and a member of staff will come in and help’ hint system totally takes you out of the experience. It’s so lame. Another piece of advice to the company would be to re-apply all the UV writing/refresh every usable clue, because a lot of them are old, faded and run-down, making them hard to utilise. In general, the staff were so laid back they were lying on the ground. We were never made to feel particularly welcome. The current renovations make the place look like a building site: all I can say is they’d best be amazing, because if not, I can’t see this escape room lasting. There are far better-quality ones in more central locations. There’s absolutely no way I’d pay 20.00 to play the either of the other two rooms, and so we may return next Black Friday.

The escape room was okay but seemed way too easy, we escaped in less than half the time with no hints so felt a bit cheated out of our money. We did the prison escape one, good theme and good puzzles just not enough of them and not as sophisticated as other escape rooms we've done. Building was really run down too, we thought it was closed when we got there! Not sure if they're currently doing building work as there was tarpaulin everywhere and some bit cornered off. Next time we do an escape room we'll probably go back to breakout!
