There are garden centres with mountains of tat and heaps of industriously grown plants employing teams of staff of varying abilities and then there are places like King John’s Nursery which is run with passion, skill and care and a team of personal and personable staff. You come here for the knowledgeable range of plants, grown by the team here, for the beautifully cared for gardens (both around the nursery and in the neighbouring house) or just to sit and have a coffee after filling your bags in the well-curated shop stocked with either locally produced craft or well-found interesting garden related products. You’ll find no tat here. You come here to get closer to plants and be inspired. The Farmer's Market every month is amazing too. We just love King John’s Nursery, it’s an absolute delight. I wish Harry and everyone there all the best and look forward to any opportunity to come back.

Great place to visit. Lots of interesting plants, quirky shop and various farmers, craft and Christmas markets across the year. And before COVID-19 they ran a nice Tea Room which will hopefully return in the future.
An amazing little nursery. It is clear to see the owner's passion for what he does. I was guarded after reading the negative reviews but they were obviously written by someone who prefers the mass produced tat that is served up at larger establishments. King John's is unique, rustic and a little bit of heaven on earth.
This is a lovely nursery that I visited with my family. The cake was lovely and fresh and all the drinks were Lovely. The garden is an excellent place to have a picnic and admire the interesting flowers. The gift shop is also lovely with hand-painted cards, Soap, plants and lots of other bits and bobs. The staff are lovely and the children’s play area is a nice place for kids to play.
We had an absolutely lovely visit to King John's Nursery yesterday, fantastic set up - shop full of lovely pieces, great selection of plants and the tea rooms served delicious cake - they even had our favourite Fenitman's Cola - which we enjoyed in the beautiful tea room garden. The visit around the gardens was lovely, incredibly tranquil and you can really tell a lot of love and care has been applied in their creation. I would not hesitate to recommend this little hidden gem.
