I have used the Avani Spa a few times over the years for their spa day pass when I've stayed here and always enjoyed it. This particular time was off-putting. The 2 receptionists (Lisa) and I think his name is Noel were working when I arrived to see if I could purchase a day pass. Lisa was very helpful and we were able to get in. Noel was very short in the questions I asked and I felt like I was bothering him. When I returned to check in to purchase the spa day pass, I received the same reception from him which was very unwelcoming. This is my preferred hotel to come to when visiting Lake Geneva as I enjoy the quiet of the Avani pool area vs. The busy hotel pool. The reception by this particular person has made me choose to look for another hotel when I return next weekend.

I had a facial at the spa the other day. It was an okay facial. I understand they follow a protocol but I don't feel it's necessary for the esthetician to leave the room during a service. A client could have a reaction during this time. Otherwise, the facilities were beautiful. I had a great relaxing day.

Some friends and I have gone multiple times for girls’ weekends. We love the spa, especially the pool which is quiet, relaxing and not as crowded as the other pool. We loved that there are multiple places in the spa to sit and relax. The resort was also renovated a few years ago and looks nicer.

This was my second time at the Avani Spa. My last visit was 2 years ago and today I remembered why I haven’t come back in 2 years. It was a girls’ day so I had a 25 minute massage, facial, and pedicure booked. All 3 services met expectations as they did last time. Lunch ordered to the pool area from the resort was surprisingly good. The indoor pool area is nice. The spa itself is just a little “off”. When we checked in , we received very little instruction other than the code to get in. We didn’t even get eye contact or a welcome. Once in, the spa facilities are nice, unless you look too closely. Chipped paint, uneven floors and walls, random hair ball rolling by the hot tub. The nail salon area just seems sad and a step further down from the spa area. All of it is an old building that needs a major facelift and they’ve just slathered some cheap makeup on it. The worst part of the day however was the number of employees NOT wearing masks properly. Especially in a service industry when you are in such close physical contact with your clients; one would think keeping a well-fitting mask up over your nose at all times would be a no brainer. Employee after employee walked by with PPE not in place. Now I sit here and hope the woman giving me my facial today had hers on while I laid there with my eyes closed for 45 minutes. Any relaxation I may have had today was quickly erased by COVID concerns. Overall my experience was not worth the high bill at the end.
