The BEST fish & chips I’ve had anywhere. The fish changes regularly, so you’ll find out what options are available when you get there. I had the cod and it melted in my mouth. You get to pick from a selection of dipping sauces or just go with the classics if you want. The mango salad was also extremely good and huge. It’s about average priced for the area but the portions are gigantic.

Service was good. The fish was average but WAY too salty. You can see the chunks of salt in the photos. You can pick from 3 different types of fish. The chips cost extra and are good, but also very salty. You can also pick a bunch of different dips for an additional cost, but they werent anything special.

Delicious fish creations. This is your fancy version of the traditional fish and chips. With nice and large portion sizes! However, if you are looking for the traditional thing in a newspaper, this is not it. Mainly because the chips are sautéed potatoes, not real chips. I had a fish and chips with mango salad for 2900isk (590 for a lemonade), which unfortunately is a normal price in Iceland, but is way more than other fish and chips alternatives that you can find around the city. If it fits in your budget, I recommended it!

The potatoes are to die for! Absolutely amazing! Had the baked fish with prune topping and it was very delicious and light. The truffle tarragon sauce is delicious and a perfect compliment to the potatoes. It's essentially like truffle flavoured sour cream. My friends had the fish and chips platter, one Cod and one Ling. The Ling was very good, the Cody was typical flavourless cod. The service was polite but not attentive and could be better. Possibly too few waiters on staff. The bread was very good.

A short menu of really good food. Known for their fish and chips, that was exactly what I ordered and they were crispy and delicious. The chips were marvelous as well and extra tasty with a lengthy list of sauces to choose from. The service was helpful and pretty quick to deliver our food to the table. Adding to the ambiance, Icelandic Fish and Chips is basically right across the street from the water. I think this makes the fish taste even more fresh from the sea! The restaurant is clean and also adjoined to a small tourist shop.

This place is ! I started reading reviews while sitting down and thought I may be in trouble because of some of the lower ratings, but I was blown away by the Plaice with mango salad and a chilli sauce (this was special #2). It is a bit pricey but so is Iceland in general so I wouldn't say it's over priced. I was stuffed, like couldn't finish the meal, but had to because it was so good stuffed! The potatoes aren't chips as you expect them, but they're still good! I understand the comments on too much oil; personally it wasn't too much but others said theirs were a little oil heavy. Overall I'm going back and this place does not deserve anything less than 4 stars. Wait staff could try to be more personable (overheard them say they didn't care to interact with us too much), but they were expedient and helpful when needed, so some people may appreciate the hands off approach. Thanks for a great meal! Please send your mango salad recipe

One of best fired fish I’ve ever had. The batter is not very heavy or oily. The portions are generous, I got three really big pieces of fish. They have preconfigured combos that can save you a few bucks. The mango salad is a little pricey but goes well with the fried fish. The rosemary potatoes were so good we had to order another side of it. The staff is really friendly. We just walked in on a Thursday night and it was moderately busy. You may want to make reservations if you are big group.

This restaurant was absolutely fab! The best fried fish I’ve had, and that was probably because it was caught on the same day. Potatoes were nice as well and a large range of drinks. A must try for any visitor!
