Needed to replace my LCD panel for my laptop which had cracked. The guys took it in, swapped the new one in and it was done within a day. Great, quick, fuss free service and very reasonably priced too. Thank you!

Very bad Service. Rude timewasters. Telephoned to ask if they could replace a noisy, failing PSU on my working PC. They said they could. Although I knew the entire specifications of the PC they first eeded to see it\. Drove it to their shop but turned out they had no intention of \looking at it\. They would get round to it sometime and phone me. I explained again I needed to use the computer but would await their call. 6 hours on they hadn't called. I telephoned. A cheeky individual said they still hadn't looked at it but (as I should know) they would phone before closing at 5 p.m. Told them that was no good I couldn't leave the PC with them overnight so I called again at shop to recover the PC. Surprise, surprise.They had now looked at it and subjected it to \diagnostics\. I told them I had not wanted it \diagnosed\ just the failing PSU replaced. I uplifted the PC and left their shop but not before another member of their staff muttered loudly \you can't please some people\ while pretending to make himself a cup of tea.When challenged he denied he had said anything. The owner, extraordinarily, accused me of trying to \get to the head of the queue\ and I needed to reaIise that things were different in these Covid times i.e., forget any idea of service and courtesy. So, on getting home I ordered a new, well-specified PSU from Amazon on-line, very cheaply and it was delivered to me free next day. I fitted the new PSU myself. No problem and working excellently. Pitman's have a monopoly on PC repairs in Kelso which I guess explains their attitude. My clear advice is go to Galashiels - or anywhere else. I have read Pitmans’ “side of the story” but affirm that my review is 100% truthful whilst their response is very nearly an entire fabrication. I have no axe to grind and expected no apology. Readers will know, however, that unbiased reviews are one of the few useful tools available to honest consumers.

I am regular customer at Pitmans and can't recommend them highly enough! I have bought 2 great value reconditioned iPads from them and they often sort out my various emergencies. These vary from broken screens, sorting out scams ( and saving me a fortune!) , to just good naturedly dealing with my embarrassing computer illiteracy! They always find time to deal with what is an emergency to their customers promptly and efficiently ( I have never known them to be beaten) and the bill is always very reasonable. We are incredibly lucky to have them in Kelso.
