I liked the library very much. Though the library is constructed in a new place and and in a new way it failed to attract readers.

Visited the library. Found it via google maps. Peaceful area. Lift available. Not much collection and variety of journal but very exhaustive for civil service aspirants. Has a 100 seater hall.

The District Library of Kolkata, called Kolkata Metropolitan Library. A well decorated four floored Library with a Newspaper Section, Text Book Section, Reading Section, Reference Section, Hindi Section, Literature Section, Book Lending Section, Women Education Sections Subject related Section, etc. The total library is Open Access. Books are arranging here according to the DDC subject division wise. All Books have been catalogued with KOHA ILMS. Library has a rich collection on text books, reference books as well as fiction, non fiction related books. Books can be issued with a Library lending card. Additional support like well decorated Bathrooms in every Flore with Pure, Cold Drinking water facilities, Lift facilities, Car Parking Zone also here available. Although Computer facilities have not started yet but users can bring their own laptops for education purpose...

This place is awesome for peace lovers. Away from the hustle and bustle but still situated in the heart of city. You can bring your own books and resources and study here peacefully. The only demerit is that the place isn't that good for a book lover and they don't have a procedure to issue books.

Kolkata metropolitan library is another place in Kolkata, located at Ballygunge to be explored by anyone. Library doesn't means only study books, it's also important in our daily life from where we can gather any information. In our everyday's work we come across various situations when some information or contacts are necessary like police, fire, ambulance etc. So this place has been incorporated as a useful information source. You can bring yours' own book here for study, at this place as this place is so peaceful. Library is closed only Sunday and 2nd & 4th Saturday of each month.
