Love to fly from this airport, especially after redesign. Everything is fast, its compact but nice though. Enough of everything to enjoy short time before taking a flight. Also the central location helps getting there faster (especially if there is traffic). If you have a flight on Friday eve, i recommend starting your trip to the airport earlier to avoid being stuck in traffic jams

I've travelled through the airport many times and can't remember having any issues. These days you can smoothly get it without self isolation if you have negative covid test from another country which is great. Staff were friendly and didn't cause any hassle.

I'm writing it here for fellow international tourists while traveling. Although no issues with the airport itself however the immigration is not as smooth. Unfortunately Ukraine immigration believes in stopping and interrogating people basis the specific country by whom your passport is issued and not by which tourist seems genuine or not. I traveled with my husband and my husband was allowed to enter(we both are different nationalities) however I was stopped for questioning only basis my nationality. I was happy to answer all questions needed however it is discrimination towards people and I hope the authorities look into such discrimination done basis passport. Unfortunately my husband kept standing and waiting outside immigration not being informed what was happening for more than 1 hour and I was asked questions out of context and to prove that he was my husband for no relevant reason. If such interrogation is really needed then why is not done at the time of visa issuance?
Benefit of that low cost airlines airport is fast transfer from the plane. Separate short passport control for foreign tourists. The airport is relatively close to the city center compared to Borispol (10-15 minut by taxi - specially durring night). Much easier to park a car and then drive out of the parking lot.
This is one of my favourite airports. It is small, there are no queues and planes leave on time. The food court is constantly changing, but the bars provide salads and soups that are much more affordable than the in-flight sandwiches on the budget airlines leaving IEV.
Very good airport. Less busy than Borispil. As a result of it all checks can be done quicker. Friendly staff.
