Love coming here when I'm in the area to get food and other necessities for my dog. Friendly and accommodating, a much preferred place to go rather than big box chain stores that could actually care less about your pet.

The staff is professional and helpful in all our pet care needs. We go just for fun sometimes to look around!

The staff is very knowledgeable and it is clear they take great care of the animals they sell. Their selection of fish is fantastic. My husband and i love to come and visit Maxine Macaw and buy food for our gecko.

The do it yourself dog wash is fabulous! They provide absolutely everything. The room is spotless, with fluffy towels, aprons, dryer, shampoo, even music! You wash your dog, then walk away from the mess! The staff is friendly and helpful; the dog wash is a godsend! Thank you!

Great harness, mediocre toys (at best) for dogs. Enclosed is a picture of an extreme tire toy, 10 minutes after my dog received it. Go elsewhere for smart toys and tough chewers toys. With that being said, I have had excellent luck with harnesses (expect to pay 35 for a good one). Update: laconia pet center did follow through with upgrading their toy selection to better quality that can withstand tough chewers. With that being said, I would highly suggest going elsewhere for fish advice. I had a complex issue that clearly stemmed from one of two things (live feeding and kid putting something in the tank). The first girl I spoke with was very helpful and understood the complexity of the situation, seeking further advice. The second guy proceeded to ask me several basic questions, completely disregarding the issue at hand. These questions included do you have an air stone and what do you feed your fish. He might as well have said, do you know the basic components of caring for your fish. Not only is this unhelpful, but it is a waste of time and speaks directly to the level of customer service they seek to provide. I think this was definitely the nail in the coffin for any money I will be spending at Laconia Pet Center. Hoping they reevaluate their customer service.
