What a lovely bunch of people!! Automata has a great robotic product and from what I've seen their customers love them. It's a hardware startup in a very challenging space, and yet they have been growing strong from the last 4 years and attracted some of the smartest engineers around. Disclaimer: I worked as a consultant with them.

I recently finished a 6 month industry placement for my university degree at Automata. Highlights of my time: - Working on a mechanical design project with Massimo, the Lead Mechanical Engineer. - Sitting in and listening to important business level meetings - Being immersed in a high pace, robotics, startup environment. - Gaining an appreciation of the steps in building a robotics business from scratch - Having flexibility to work across the business functions. - Having great conversation with interesting talented people - Getting feedback on my work (positive points for improvement) I can highly recommend this company to anyone who wants to get hands on experience with how hardware startup companies operate today (both the good and the bad). Just being in the environment and observing is worth its weight in gold.

I started at the beginning of 2019 the interviewing process with a phone call and developed, as requested, a code challenge. I sent some emails for a feedback but never get back any response. My interview process has been abandoned by the company without any explanation. Unkind and unprofessional.
