My daughter has been at Clapton Girls for 5 years and maths has always been a struggle for her so when she began GCSE. I was really disappointed with how the maths department work they were giving interventions ( which is extra maths lessons to support students) to the higher group and the lower sets were neglected as I asked my daughter to join the intervention but she told me that no one in the lower set has intervention and you have to ask for it. I think that’s absolutely appalling, lower sets need more attention and help in maths but sets above that are getting intervention. I have heard everything, one of the teachers was not in so they had a supply teacher, another teacher pregnant in the middle of the GCSE exam and another teacher that hasn’t taught the students the full content . With the pressure of GCSE getting to the students, teachers should also make sure there attendance is punctual and they are 100% there for the students. I took my daughter out the school where she is receiving proper education and she passed maths with me taking her to tuition. This isn’t to put down the school but help parents who are considering taking their daughter to Clapton Girls to reconsider. I don’t want you to go through the catastrophe my daughter went through in that school.

I definitely agree with Jackie Brown & Katie Ning the school has a lot of improvements to make. I had to move my daughter to a different school because of the lack of support from the maths department. My daughter has complained to me that during her year of GCSE teachers attendance was very bad and the supply teachers were absolutely clueless and would just give them textbook work. I had to pay for a tutor to support my daughter something the teachers in Clapton Girls should be doing. They do parents meeting wasting parents time obsessing how they are the best school in the borough. The school shouldn’t take any credit for students getting the grades as it’s their hard work which made them succeed. It’s already enough pressure for the students with exam, revision and home so when the teachers fail to always be here it’s puts extra stress in the students which isn’t right. I am very disappointed with the the ofsted or the people that’s inspecting the school because you are not doing your job properly.

I wish there was an option to give it a zero rating but I guess I will just give it one star. My daughter attended this school for 5 years and i have to say I’m not very pleased with the school. My daughter went trough a similar experience that the person above me just mentioned (Katy Bling) at first I thought the school was great I checked the reviews and saw that it was one of the top schools in Hackney and thought it was the best school to send my daughter but god was I wrong. Let me start off by saying that the staff in the maths department are not good at all my daughter who is not the best at maths was left on her own to teach her self as lazy teachers kept giving up on her and instead of providing the support she needed they gave her useless website such as hegarty maths, maths watch and so on to teach her self I don’t understand how lazy teachers got and why they heavily rely on technology to teach the students (which btw the websites are not even helpful) my daughter ended up failing her maths GCSEs due to the school lack of help in the maths department because of that I see my daughter who is current in sixth form suffering everyday and suffering from severe anxiety trying to balance out maths and 3 A levels. There is soo much more that I could go in details on but I don’t have the time today. So to all parents or future kids who are thinking or planing to join this school please rethink your choice I do not want your child to end up like mine suffering trynna balance out her school life due to the school laziness I wish someone would of told me earlier what kind of school this was then I would of definitely not sent my daughter here. PS she’s currently in another sixth form as CGA don’t provide a lot of options for a levels a b tec

I should give no stars my daughter was mercilessly bullied at this school and the school did nothing do not recommend trying to get her story in this school out everywhere on all platforms to take the ratings of the school down.DO NOT send your daughter to this school it is terrible

I currently attend Clapton girls and am in my last year at first I did not like the school mainly because my sister was there with me however the school began to grow on me there are so many extra curricular activities available and support around you . Staff and students are willing to go the extra mile for the people around them as well as giving back to the community. The school flourishes in sports and we have gone on to win many competitions .if you are looking to maybe get into professional sports Clapton is the place to be . As I look around for sixth forms to apply to I realise that they do not have the love and support that I get from my school. I have had the opportunity to be featured in the school banner and I am proud to say that I am a Clapton Girl.
