Lovely area of the New Forest and with some awesome history too. Have a look where the motorway is and consider not walking too far in that direction if you don't want the noise during your walk. That said it is pretty out that way.

Lovely, tranquil spot to stop, walk & picnic.
Lovely walking plenty of parking. Little noisy from the nearby main road. Great beech and holly trees. Easy to feel your back into Norman times.
Nice piece of pretty woodland. This is part of the New Forest, where King William II (William Rufus) was killed in a hunting accident. It's very pretty here in the autumn. One of the trees looks like it has a face... maybe it's an ent?
Lovely place. I would advise getting there early as parking is limited.
