I really loved this place! It's hard to find a BBQ restaurant in Seoul that will serve a solo diner. I had been told no by two different BBQ restaurants because the minimum party size they serve is two, so I literally couldn't eat there. After some searching I found Baetjang (뱃장) near the Hongik Univ station. This restaurant is happy to seat and serve just one for a charcoal BBQ, which includes everything, just on a mini scale. The seating and mini-grill is so cute, just perfect for the solo diner. The quality of the meat is excellent, and so delicious! And the service is great. I would recommend this place to anyone, and especially to the solo diner wanting to eat BBQ in Seoul.

Was in Seoul by myself and looking for a Korean bbq. Had a really tasty meal. Service and English were a B at best, but who cares? The meat was exceptional, the sides were tasty, and the ambiance was neat. It’s a tiny place, only 4 employees working on a Saturday night. Neighborhood was HOPPING, lots of fun and energy. Overall a good place to go if you’re by yourself or with one other person. Seems well set up for that.

Most of Korean BBQ Restuarant required to be at least 2, but this shop allow for a solo. Menu is good despite the price is a little bit high. Staffs are really well trained
It’s expensive for the quantity and quality of meat served, but it’s a unique dining experience. If you’re alone or on a date, it’ll make for an intimate dinner.

Pretty good place. 35000w for 150g sirloin is not cheap, but the meat was really good. Side dishes were also tasty. The little charcoal grill is cute. Only downside is the beer price/selection. Regular local beer here costs almost as much as a craft beer on the other side of the road, which is in a different league. There were some special beers on the menu, but they were too pricy for me to try.
Beatjang is just a small place, just right for small groups. It is a mix of a bar resto and a grilling place. We tried their conbination A beef which includes atleast 3 types (sirloin, strips, etc)... the quality of beef is good and you will be provided a mini griller so it wouldnt take so much space on the table. Overall, they have english-speaking staff also. Ofcourse expect to smell like smoke when you go out because this is a grilling place.
