Great Indian food and reasonable prices. Everything we had was very flavorful and the staff was very pleasant and accommodating! Prawn tikka masala was divine. By the time we finished our dinner, the restaurant was full with what looked like locals.
Indian food in the tourist area of Marseille. Food was ok with the menu offering “safe” tourist oriented choices. Some bizarre options I have never seen on an Indian menu. Smoked salmon on roti? Samosa were dry, chicken tika was tender but nothing exciting. Service was a little odd.
Ashoka is one of the best Indian restaurants operated by Indian family for more than 15 yrs. Friendly staff, they can help you choose the food if you are not familiar with Indian cuisine. Thali is available which includes most of the options - chicken , meat and fish with rice and roti ( naan ) Good place for Indian food lovers....

ASHOKA restaurant I would have give only 3 star. However, overwhelmed with the conversation with one of the restaurant member from Pondicherry and to my surprise, we actually spoke in Hindi.. It was so good to know that wherever you go, the tradition and culture follows. A retired army personnel following his passion for food Now about the food: So we were two persons and ofcourse the order will be for 2. The curry and the cheese naam order got miscommunicated, (I believe). Once you finish your meal, they will ask for dessert and at the last they will bring Tea for you. Now you will think it's a complimentary drink??? NO Well I thought so, but, to my surprise, they actually chare for it. So please check and order carefully. Taste wise it is okay.
