Great hike during the winter. The purple loop goes by the main falls and red granite trail goes by a smaller yet absolutely beautiful falls. Highly recommend going there. However red granite trail has many hills and gets a bit harder. The purple loop is much easier.

Copper Falls State Park is a really fun and adventurous place to go hiking and exploring. We went during the winter and we enjoyed the hiking trails as they were not treacherous but still scenic. Attached are some of the photos from our trip.

My first time exploring waterfalls in my own home state and I was blown away! Getting up close to some of these were really spectacular because you sometimes can't get that close to the falls out west. The scenic beauty rivals anything elsewhere, especially after it rains and the falls are at their peak. The copper-colored falls looked like they were flowing with beer. Don't skip the Red Granite Falls! I loved the gorgeous trails through the woodlands, seeing the flora and fauna up close and personal was a real treat. The plaques with the history and geology explained were fascinating. Great place to picnic, so bring food along with you. You can cook out on the grills that they provide near the picnic tables. If you want to hike and see falls, you'll be there at least three hours. There are bridges and benches along the trails, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, a voluntary public work relief program that operated from 1933 to 1942 in the United States for unemployed, unmarried men. It's nice to see their craftsmanship and how they built things to last. Wish we had a program like that today. Reviewed on 8/31/2020

Great state park! Easy 1.5 mile loop along river and waterfalls. It is very accessible, mostly gravel or paved. There is a slightly more challenging trail from the falls back to Loon Lake- a little over a mile long.

Don’t skip on any trails that include falls! The Copper and Brownstone falls are huge and sights you won’t want to miss. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE TRAILS - THERE IS NO WAY TO SEE THE FALLS WITH DOGS. However, you can do the trials that lead to the Red Granite Falls with dogs. :) The wood here was fantastic and the bathrooms were very clean. There are plenty of trails to keep you busy and a cool lake when you come in that you could probably paddle/fish.
