An interesting boat ride from this small little jetty at Mandalay to Mingun at the opposite. Get/pay the ticket from the small office and board the boat later. There are no proper facilities, no concrete paths or steps leading to the waiting boat but just, the sandy/muddy beach and walking up along some planks to the boat. A great experience and with lots of fun too.

To get to Mingun (with private boat) go to the small office which just between the road and the river. Ask anyone there for Thin Win Boat company and they will find the guy responsible to help you. They will provide you with a huge boat and take you to Mingun and wait for you for around 2 hours for 30,000 (without negotiation). Was a great day out.
Very nice river view point in Mandalay
Day trips to Mingun with all the tourists in Mandalay at your disposal. It's very busy. Don't miss your boat; they will actually leave earlier than stated if they can. You might have to assertively squeeze yourself past some sundeck seat-hogging boomers who won't budge an inch to let you through. I say they can walk the plank!
Come here to visit the white Hsinbyume Pagoda and the Mingun pahtodawgyi get here before 9am and pay 5000pp and then 5000pp when you arrive. Good value and the boat trip is nice and relaxing !
You can barely call this place a harbour, but if you need a trip on the river you has to pass the mud on the river bank and balance the gangway plank. Quite an experience
The mingun jetty transport is the most ideal and quickest and easiest and cheapestway(5000kyats) to get to mingun and back though getting into the ferry boat is a little bit tricky where you have to cross several boats before you get into your ferry boat
