This is a very clean friendly place. The inmates are treated like real people. Most of them get along well. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The warden is a young woman who is very down-to-earth and ready to listen to the inmates. The guards are very efficient and treat visitors with respect. The programs and the educational things, are excellent allowing women to learn to get along in society. It has a lovely visiting room with snacks, and an outside area so you can go from either place inside or out and be comfortable. There's a beautiful play place for children to come into with toys and books and dollhouse. Very welcoming.
I was only here a short bit in 2014 but it’s not bad, the worst part about prison is literally being away from your children (loved ones). There were mostly compassionate C.O’s and the conditions were clean. The food was ok too except on the weekends they give out a sack lunch unfit for a rabbit. This prison had a Nintendo Wii and huge flat screen TVs. Some Saturdays we could even order pizza or chicken for delivery IM SERIOUS lol basically a day spa with a lot of rules and no booze
I spent quite a bit of time here as an inmate. Not proud of it by any means. But I will agree that as women we were truly treated equally & the ONLY times that you would be treared with disrespect, is because you were disrespectful 1st!! I'm not going to say the staff makes it feel like home because this was in no way my home but they made you feel like you were truly safe & never once was I ever talked down to or felt as if I were indifferent.
Nice people
