Our passivhaus is built around a Buildakit and we are delighted with it. The house was delivered and made waterproof over a period of 47 hours. Friendly and helpful staff and it was nice to be able to visit the factory in Nelson where the pieces are put together. Seems a better way than using SIP panels.

As an architect and Passivhaus Designer I've worked with Buildakit on a number of new-build projects, including two completed/certified Passivhaus jobs and two more in progress. They produce high-quality frames with attention to detailing and airtightness, and have been good to work with. They also provided the structure for extensions to my own home - a low-energy retrofit of a Victorian end-terraced house, which worked well. Photos attached.

As first time self builders myself and my partner decided it was best to sub out the timber frame element of our house to help speed up overall programme and improve quality. As we are hoping to build to Passivhaus standard we felt the accuracy achieved in offsite construction would be of great benefit. After receiving a number of quotes we decided to use Bill and the team as they came with some great recommendations and were very fair on price. Our house was delivered and installed on time without any hiccups. The installation process was very impressive and efficient. We would highly recommend them to any self builders out there looking for a quality energy efficient home. I just hope we can do the rest of the build justice!
quite simply buildakit are easy to deal with. From initial discussions, design, pricing and completing the work they make each step simple and they do what they say at each stage. I would definitely recommend and will without doubt will use again. Supplied and erected two multi bay garages on this occasion, but also experienced them supplying and installing a large timber frame house.
