You can’t get fresher (or cheaper) than this. Rice rolls made to order and no more than 2.50. My favorite is the chinese sausage and vegetable roll smothered in all of their sauces. Things to keep in mind: There’s usually a line on weekend mornings (it moves quickly!), it’s cash only, and if you don’t speak Chinese you might need a helper.

Happened to stop by this tiny store. If you're trying to find it, good luck. Delicious, authentic, made fresh (like live) for a very cheap price.

Small place with good rice noodle

I went here after I read about the sweet tofu in the Best Cheap Desserts in NYC list. The price was listed as 1.25 in a three year old article and surprisingly the price didn't change until now! The tofu was truly fresh, they give you a small container of sugar syrup with it. I wouldn't consider it a dessert but it was worth a try.

Cheap eats that are delish. Prepare to wait on line, but it’s worth it. Old school rice rolls - Cantonese style - made with broad noodles (haw fun). Ordered 2 types - dried shrimp and beef. Dried shrimp was tastier, but both were good.

Really, really solid egg rice noodles. It’s a street window with a simple menu. They make the items right in front of you. Add the sauces on and you’re good to go. This competes with Joe’s.

You can customize your own rice noodles. I tried the dried shrimp with peanut sauce. It was delicious. Only downside is that it's very difficult to find parking.
