J T Soar owner Phil is the most attentive and accommodating business owner there is. He is a really great musical motivator and helps bands and artists get the best of of their music. The building has great character and serves as a rehearsal space, music studio and live music venue and has been keeping the Nottingham music scene live and kicking. There is no better intimate music venue in my view and I am proud to have this in the heart of the city. Any musicians that are interested in recording and working with Phil....... I cannot recommend this place enough!

I basically live at JT Soar when all is well - Love going for gigs here and also practice in 2 bands and we've recorded our last 2 eps here. Phil is a true diamond providing such an important place for the local independent music scene. So so lucky to have a place like this in Nottingham.
JT Soar is probably my favourite place in Nottingham. I have had the pleasure record, rehearse, perform and attend gigs here for many years now and feel like more of a complete human being as a result. Also it couldn't be run by a nicer person.
We held a birthday party at jt soar and it was an absolute dream. They were so accommodating and helped us put on a fun night for our friends. Would recommend to anyone!
