Absolutely horrible doctor. Kept telling my grandmother she was going to be fine while dying from a drug induced pneumonitis. When she started hallucinating from the steroids they were giving her he sent in a psychiatrist to ask if she was depressed? A 79 year old woman with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, currently being treated for a lung infection caused by the cancer drug prescribed to treat her and you have the audacity to send in a psychiatrist to ask about her mental condition?? He also treated her for over a year while she resided at Van Dyke and Dellridge rehab center and never met her once. Another doctor all about the almighty dollar. Stay very far away.

I see Dr. Shatkin for multiple medical issues. When I see him I feel he gives me the attention I deserve. He takes the time to listen to my medical complaints, and thoroughly explains a plan of action. I genuinely believe he cares for the well being of his patients, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a pulmonologist.
Worst doctor ever!! He was late over an hour to the only appointment I had with him, making the appointment last 3 hours! The day of my appointment with him, he yelled at me when I told him I couldnt come every week because of work and my changing schedule with my 4 kids. Then he had his receptionist book a follow up appointment with him, without even telling me. I paid my co pay and left. One week later I received a letter in the mail from him stating he no longer wanted me as his patient for being uncooperative, all because I asked for a better time frame to come in other than weekly. That was back in July and today, 5 months later, I got a bill in the mail for 35 for a no show fee and unpaid co pay. When I called the office, the receptionist said I had to pay it and that she disciplined me the day of my appointment. I explained to her what happened and I told her I wasn't paying one cent to a doctor who does illegal things behind a patient's back just to get money of them. Her account manager said ok that's fine and then she hung up on me. I refuse to pay that doctor for appointments I never made or approved or pay him for something i previously paid for. He was so nasty too during the appointment! Worst doctor ever!!! If you value your dignity and humanity, don't go there!
Dr. Shatkin has been treating me for my asthma for the past year. Over the past year, he has helped me to better understand my condition, and treat it. Twice this year, I have been hospitalized for asthma, and during both hospitalizations, Dr. Shatkin has been very thorough in creating treatment plans and monitoring my progress. I am grateful to have such a competent and caring doctor, and recommend him confidently to friends and family.
