In the heart of the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Pau has undoubtedly got much more to offer than just the one asset but L'hippodrome De Pau racecourse is certainly a historic place that's well worth a visit. Pau racecourse was created in 1842 and was principally known for its jump racing circuit. However, they decided to broaden its appeal to include the flat-racing community when, in 2000, they laid the first fiber-sand track, all-weather surface created in France. Heavily used for both racing and daily training, the fiber-sand track was completely renovated in 2019. Allied to its undoubted attributes as a year-round racecourse & corporate venue, this outstanding Pyrénéan location is beautifully turned out with all their jumping fences, surrounding signature box-hedges & associated greenery maintained to a very high standard.

Nice place to watch races and bet. Entry for free and there is lots of parking. Other activities are there during events.
