Advised to disembark, only to be held in a queue in the rain whilst containers were taken off the ship. Couldn't move to shelter because forklift truck was operating. Bags then unloaded and left in the rain. Come on, apply a little common sense please.

Beautiful views from this side of the harbour
This place is primitive. The \facilities\ and \system\ of loading and unloading luggage is chaotic. I was reminded of Michael Palin and his film crew boarding a dhow to cross the Arabian Gulf. Cases are simply strewn around the pier after unloading from their metal cases then there is a free for all as people clamber over everything and each other to get their case. Worse still there are cars going back and forth on the very restricted space of the pier as well as pedestrian traffic. The whole thing has probably remained the same for a century, including the rusty old bollards which provide an extra hazard for cars. They should direct car drivers to stay off the pier, but that would add a seemingly unwanted refinement to the system. Unfortunately, there seems to be no alternative except expensive air travel, so ferry travellers to Scilly seem to have to resign themselves to a stressful, horrible experience.
What is a ferry terminal? In this case it is just a harbour (Penzance) where the ferry to St Marys, Isles of Scilly docks. Enjoy the trip, but be prepared to wait in the rain to board
feels more like a cargo port than a passenger terminal
