I've used the wharf for launching canoes and kayaks. There's an easy lip with perhaps 2 foot drop into the water, a small step by the bridge which is good for one craft to use and a small slipway. The car park can get busy during popular times, particularly as it's used by the pub. Parking fees apply, but are very reasonable.

Good place for Kayaking. Many hours paddling as Mikes between locks. Lots narrow boats parked along the route. Saw lots of birds. Parking in wharf cheap but limited space so come early. Launch site is a slip way so easy in but slippery out so reverse back up easier.
Stunning walk along the canal, an array of beautiful barges adorn the canal bank. With the chance to see the odd Kingfisher, Dragonfly or Swan.
Gorgeous walk! Friendly pub on Riverside too with lush beer.
Lovely place, the town reeks of old and there are a few treasures (such as a poem) to find along the way. The pub is a great place to begin or end, filled with good food and good people
