A very good museum about the history of Rio Grande do Sul state, however everything is only in Portuguese. My Spanish is very good and I found the Portuguese explanations reasonably easy to follow. But if you don't know either language you will be lost. There were also two temporary photography exhibitions when we visited.

Importante construção, remanescente dos anos iniciais do século XX, que por décadas foi a sede regional da Empresa Brasileira de Correios e hoje abriga o Memorial do Rio Grande do Sul, como repositório das artes e da cultura sul-rio-grandense.

Estivemos no Memorial em dezembro e a estrutura é muito boa, o prédio histórico é bem cuidado e espaçoso. A entrada é gratuita, mas o acervo é simples. No entanto, é possível ter um panorama geral da história do Rio Grande do Sul com as peças que estão disponíveis.

Ocupa um belo prédio histórico na Praça da Alfândega, localizada no Centro de Porto Alegre. Inaugurado em 1914 e tombado pelo IPHAN em 1980, o edifício foi sede dos Correios na capital gaúcha por décadas e atualmente abriga também o Memorial do Rio Grande do Sul.
