The salon used to be a great place with professional stylists and a phenomenal team. However, over the last year and a half the level of professionalism displayed by management/owners, including but not limited to Gina & Dan berating their staff and loudly arguing with them in front of customers or threatening them during business hours. This made myself and several others clients very uncomfortable. However, Every-time my mother or I would come in the salon employees seemed to diminish and when asking what happened they threw all their personal dirty laundry out there. saying employees left without notice, all while complaining of the hardship it was placing on the salon. I know of several other employees that have left, however it is such a shame for what was once a truly awesome salon to become just a place to drive by and have such negative feeling. Since the people that used to be at Eden became the only reason I continued to frequent Eden, I have no problem leaving Eden in the hopes I can find my old stylist and nail person. Customers should never be privy to the discord between management/owners and the employees. There certainly shouldn't be shouting matches initiated by a manager/owner, nor should customers be happy to accept sub-par services performed by disgruntled employees. I had a pedicure/manicure done, I will be nice and not say who..they performing this service seemed rushed and did not take the time to properly complete the service when I told them I did not want to here all the drama. If I want additional salon services, I will be better off going to a salon that doesn't have the drama and unprofessional-ism within the very walls of the establishment.

Very unprofessional service. My hair stylist even went as far as to say "whoever cut your hair last obviously had no idea what they were doing. Your layers look awful, they are so uneven." The last place I had my hair cut was at Eden.... maybe it's just me, but I don't think that telling customers how "awful" their layers look is how you get repeat business. If it weren't for the fact that my hair color turned out great I would have given it 1 star. They do a good job, but they should really work on their professionalism and friendliness.
One star is one star too many for this salon. First impression: the entire salon smells musty. It's a run-down old ranch house which the owners have converted into a "spa." What a joke. Everything in there looks old and used. Despite this, I continued to go there because I adored my stylist from the very start. Unfortunately, that stylist disappeared and the owners/management would not tell me where she went, nor why she left. Instead, they put me with a different stylist who, once again, I came to adore... even more than the one I'd had before her. However, after a few short months, she and another stylist had also disappeared without explanation. This salon obviously has management problems. Why else would their staff be dropping off like flies?? If I wanted to have a different stylist do my hair every time I went into a salon, I would just go to Hair Cuttery and pay half the price. This place is disgusting and I prefer to spend my money someplace where the owners treat their staff well. I will not be back.
Eden Salon and Spa! Can't say enough good things about this salon. Not only are their prices reasonable, but they carry my make-up (Bare Minerals) and offer specials on mani/pedis. Plus, they're open on Mondays. which is always nice. My stylist is great and the other employees are so helpful. Located on Tyre Neck Road in Portsmouth, Eden Spa is a great find.
Thank you Angel for my wonderful Massage and Lindsey for my awesome Spa Pedicure. Loved the Pumpkin Spice Pedi !!
