I was a patient here recently. I was dumped here and ignored by the staff for the first two days. Finally on the 3rd day a student nurse gave me the orientation talk. From breakfast in the morning at 8am to last medication at night, 10pm, there was literally nothing for patients to do except watch tv. If we were lucky you got to do an hours activity a couple of times a week. The only thing the staff did on a regularly bases was take patients out for a smoke break every hour. On my side of the ward the doors to the lounge/dining area were always open so you had constant noise from the tv, patients and staff morning noon and night. The light in my bathroom broke and me and the lady i shared a room with reported this 4 times, yet 5 days later it was still not fixed. And though some of the staff were very kind and listened to me, they were not very helpful when it came to helping me deal with my problems. At no point did anyone make any suggestion on how i can deal with my violent and negative thoughts. Yet after 8 days the ward doctor told me they were releasing me because \we think we've done all we can for you.\ He told me he would refer me to the Home Treatment team and i would get up to 6 weeks care. This has not happened. They came once and then told me they wouldn't be coming again. They closed the books on me basically. And because the hospital does not refer former patients to the Home Treatment team directly, even though they share the same site, i am now on a waiting list of up to six months to see specialist councillors who can help me. The two stars are for the staff who were kind to me.

Not sure how to describe this place I was admitted to this ward Hollingsworth then moorside and the rules are quite strict and there unlimited thing you can do, a part from eating, sleeping and watching tv. The staff sometimes treats you like a child

They have been very helpful, kind and professional. Sometimes a bit cold but I think sometimes that is necessary so they can make more objective decisions. I would recommend under the friends and family test.

Poor care and effort. Misdiagnosed by a Dr here after he rushed through a one hour appointment in 20 minutes. Wards aren't much better, understaffed and too many people can do what this hospital should stop, like the flow of drugs and suicides. No further help offered. I'd never go here again, better off on your own or elsewhere.

Very very bad place to be, staff don’t want to help you, medication forced on people if you don’t want it you are then forced an injection upon you. Everyone sedated or tranquillised around visiting times to make the place look calm and a good environment. Patients treated like criminals and starved and locked up 24/7 Drugs are rife and most people off there heads fights everyday and assaults are very common never thought I was getting out of this hell hole
