Very lovely place and very educational and great for the whole family. Last time I went there was a area where you can hire for weddings and there are good grounds and the gift shop has a lot of lovely gifts in and the staff are so lovely and I do believe if you have English heritage you can get in free as myself and my partner and 2 children got in with our English heritage membership. Also in one area you can do coin and medal rubbings which the children liked. Also it's situated in a lovely village with a pub near by that does pub grub. The streets surrounding it are very interesting and old houses.

An important piece of naval history, presented in a straightforward way. Whilst walking around the Castle you really get a sense of its function over form construction. You can see the struggles this building has faced over the years, and the hardship of the battles fought. With the restrictions in place, the grounds were off limits for picnics and resting, and I would say the activities and atmosphere also took a small hit too. Although the staff were very informative and friendly, and the information placed around really filled in the facts. Overall it is an enjoyable place to visit, well recommended if you like history. There is a free car park a short walk away, but there are limited spaces.

Not open as of yet, but still a lovely little location to visit and can easily be reached on foot. There are two beautiful pubs on this little road, so worth the jaunt even if you can't go in the castle.

An unusual little castle on the Medway. Good information boards inside, featuring The Dutch war and the work of Samuel Pepys
