Historic place for good traditional Roman dishes: simple and yet very tasty. Rough service, but good value for money. Lunch better than dinner.

We had pasta Cacio e Pepe for lunch - which was really nice. The Osteria is maybe not a good choice for a romantic date, but if you can handle a little grumpiness it makes you feel like you are in Berlin (just with better weather and better pasta). Also English is not a problem and it felt like everybody got the same treatment.
A quirky place, but friendly and cheap. Pay only 25 each for a four course meal. This included a starter, pasta course, meat course and then traditional biscuits for pudding. Pay extra for any drinks. All food was very tasty and it was nice to sit outside on a street that's a little bit away from the main tourist thoroughfare. Beef stew and mini roasted potatoes was the best course I had.
A certainty for the past 5 plus years, good food, good wine, good company, a must if you're in Rome!
Not sure how anyone can give this place less than 5*. It's a local Roman restaurant, always very busy with locals. Great value and fantastic service. If you want touristic food and service go eat in a tourist restaurant, Roma is full of them, you want real Roman food and service, eat here it's amazing.
