Love the great expanse of shingle, cafes, fishing boats and chalk cliffs. On warm day you can just lie back on the shingle and soak up the atmosphere.

Absolute lovely place. Very good cafes. Food is great, but a bit expensive. But it's worth it. Great staff. And I'm German and love beer So I like the town

The hidden gem of East Devon. This beach has everything. Its stony but I don't mind. There's great places to eat and stay. Lovely shops and fantastic walks along the cliffs. Dog friendly too

Love this place! Two beach cafes and fresh fish stall. Short walk from car parks to main street with shops, galleries and eateries, beach and park. Can access cliff top walks too.

Gorgeous part of Devon, clean beach and walks along the cliff tops. Perfect for a day out. The pub at the start of the beach has a lovely beer garden overlooking the beach with beautiful views. Even when it's overcast the views are stunning.

Tiny little historical village with a fantastic community feel and local pride. Fisherman boats and the fish market are the beating heart of this place. Pubs, restaurants and coffee shops complete the scene and welcome visitors all year round. Of course it gets busier during the summer and the many beach huts for rent are there to prove that Beer is a seaside destination worth visiting.

This is somewhere I often come spur of the moment as its not too far from home and is always deserted. It's a great place to get out of most bad weather I've found unless blowing easterly. I have however only been at night and then onto daylight so hardly surprising noones ever there. I'd imagine summer days it would be quite busy. There's a couple of caves around to the right hand side which can be accessed at low tides, but be aware of the incoming tide allowing yourself enough time to return safely. Its a working beach so a couple of old school netters go out every morning.. This is usually my q to leave whether I've been successful or not.
