This is a great seaside town with a lovely beach it is mainly large pebbles but there is some sand when the tide goes out towards the Jacobs ladder end...The beach always looks clean,we actually see some locals litter picking...Well done you,it a shame that there is litter to pick up in the first place there are a lot of people in this country that do not respect our beautiful island and leave rubbish everywhere they go..I would love to dump it back in there gardens...Now back to the beach the sea is lovely and clear also...Overall a great place to visit......Another visit on a very stormy day,as you will see by my photos the sea was quite rough throwing sand and pebbles across the promenade....With people and children standing there and getting soaking wet.....A bit silly if you ask me as they could have been hit on the head with some of th pebbles being thrown into the air....

With a bygone feel of old English seaside, Sidmouth sea front both delights and comforts it's inhabitants and visitors, who are mostly of an age when a walk along by the sea is ideally not a laborious hike but a stroll, designed to stretch the muscles and fill the lungs with glorious health giving sea air. Sidmouth this morning, being the first day when the sun managed to fight it's way through the grey rain clouds after a very wet weekend, was buzzing with people, pets and busy shoppers, eager to pick up essentials and luxuries from a very upmarket bunch or establishments before the drizzle started again. Most people were masked and were social distancing. We picked up some very reasonable fresh local fish from a fishmonger near the front who was both entertaining, with his story, and friendly, with the time to help and inform, again in a way which even in Devon, is not always the case in a world of fast movers and folk anxious to avoid the dreadful Covid-19. Sidmouth is an oasis

Stunning every time such an amazing colour and views. Large pebbles and sand at one end when the tide is out. Toilets nearby. Lots of cafes and places to eat. Local shops and parking all within easy walking distance. Suitable for wheelchairs as it has a long wide promenade with seating.
