After reading the good reviews, I decided to drive an extra hour to try this little restaurant. Wow! Was it worth it! The carry out order was piping hot, which made the flavors even better as I sat in my car to eat. The paratha was incredible, simply melting in my mouth. The fried tofu, which is made from chickpeas rather than soybeans, was a revelation. Crispy on the outside with silky smoothness on the inside, and unbelievably flavorful. The two appetizers were so filling that I saved the tea leaf salad for lunch the next day. It was also delicious. The staff were helpful and nice, and gave excellent recommendations. They utilized safety measures for Covid, which put me at ease. This little gem was a true find. I can't wait to come back!
Irrawaddy Taste Of Burma! Great Restaurant. I loved the service, loved the food. This is a very popular Burmese place in San Francisco. So if your around the bay area you should stop by this restaurant.
I've been here several times and all I can say is if you truly want some flavorful food, this is the place to be. The tea leaf salad is a must to try. I have not had a bad meal here. It is worth the wait even during the rainy days. Its a must try when in San Francisco.
First time trying Irrawaddy Taste Of Burma food, and it was extremely tasty. It was a delightful surprise, bursting with flavor inside my mouth. I wish I could remember one of the dish name, it included flat noodles with curry and chili. The service was also amazing, very attentive, and the waitress was the one who recommended our dishes. I would definitely go back.
This restaurant is amazing. From the courtesy to the decor - to the flavors and the portions - you will not be disappointed. It's great to support a local eatery that serves delicious food, prepared fresh, and at a very fair price. This is one of our 'rotation' joints for good reason!
This was my first taste of Burmese cuisine and it impressed me greatly! The food was delicious and flavorful! The service was friendly and top notch.
MYANMAR Excerpt from Eat the World Los Angeles: Their tofu thote (12) is a winner, with a nice ladle of tamarind garlic sauce thrown on top. Burmese tofu is yellow because it is made with chickpea flour rather than soybean, which makes any dish using it take on this flavor as well rather than just the flavors of its other ingredients. Thote dishes, all served room temperature and freshly mixed in front of you when ordered from vendors or restaurants in Myanmar, can be made with noodles as well. These dishes like nun gyi thote (translated as "southern noodles") and kauk swear thote ("Mandalay noodles") are available here and expected to be delicious.
