Amazing for children to learn, feel and swim. It is the most valuable and educational attraction with top priority. No need for interpreter. Free of charge walk-in self-guided tour makes it the easiest and unique because many OTHER incinerators in Tokyo require booking (with filled forms or by phone) which make it hard for non-Japanese. Though it burns 24 hours a day, its visitor centre opens from 9am to 3:30pm (last entry at 3pm) Mon-Sat. Instead of filling rubbish dumps and mining coal, burning waste in high temperature to produce electricity and using the remaining heat for the connected indoor (warm water) pool is a perfect package. The ash collected would be melted in 'Ash Fusion Facility' for size reduction, detoxification and resources recycling. Clear sky, smokeless chimney, odourless surroundings, beautiful waterfront parks and playgrounds prove it is safe, green and clean. Incinerators in Japanese cities are usually part of the community, with schools, commercial and residential areas. Visit it first in the morning though it is near many attractions like Tokyo Sky Tree (close quite late), some museums (Post/Stamp, Kao, Tobu Rail, Seiko Watch/Clock, Tobacco and Salt), local shops and river cruise.
