Beautiful place in the morning and evening for photography of a nice Lighthouse, pier, etc.

One of my Favourite stretches of local coastline. Very rarely visit South Shields coast as they've ruined the drive with 6 million speed bumps and its lit up like Christmas with so many street lights you've got no chance of seeing the stars from there or Roker (same problem with the lights unfortunately) Still love our coastline in the day light though, it's stunning
Arguably one of the North East's best family-friendly beaches considering the shelter offered to the sea by Roker Pier. Even upon a blustery day, the waves are gentle. The sand is clean and golden. The pier, of course, offers a great walk from here. Just behind this pretty beach are numerous cafes and small gardens tastefully and imaginatively planted with ornamental grasses. The whole scene is one of imaginative cohesion. Other town planners would do well to visit and take note!!
Such a lovely beach and always a bonus that we can take our dog on certain parts of the beach plus many places to have lunch
Superb beach , so many restaurants nearby... Best places for picnic with family... Children's will love this place more. Overall well maintained public beach
Lovely walks along the seafront and on the pier, nice cafes and bars, busy but peaceful.
Lovely views and not overcrowded Especially at 7 a.m
Doggie beaches and non doggie beaches. Loads of rubbish bins and loads of poo bins. Granny Annie's is the most welcoming dog friendly pub on the sea front with great food. Downies fish and chips can't be beaten. 16 and a soon to open champagne bar is exciting. Loads of dolphins due to quiet covid seas. Really clean beaches. Loads of tea stops, seats, toilets and views. Love it.
