I have been studying English since I was little, and I have to say the way Ellie gave me the classes was the best by far. If you are looking for personalized classes and adapted to achieve the level you desire, this is your academy without doubts. I have to thank the teacher, firstly for creating an environment of total confidence and flexibility and secondly, for perfectly understanding my language needs. I completely recommend the English Room if you want to learn the language in the most effective way.

I was lucky enough to find The English Classroom language school when I was in Bishop’s Stortford for a long summer holiday with my family. Ellie is an excellent and indefatigable teacher, who managed to understand my needs and identify a path that could help my English. I have had excellent results also thanks to her encouragement. I discovered The English Room while searching for a language school for me and my wife, after moving to Bishop's Stortford in 2018. I had a great impression from the very start, especially since I met Ellie. Her passion for teaching emanates like an aura and is 'contagious'. After the initial discussion about my wife's and my language support needs, I was pretty certain I had found the place where we would have studied. Then, when Ellie proposed me to join a trial lesson of her new initiative, the 'Confident speakers' course, I was eager to jump in. I attended the full course during 2018-19, one lesson a month, and I am so glad I did it. Ellie and Kevin (a professional speaker and coach Ellie organized the course with) delivered an extremely useful and interesting set of lessons, to help people like me in overcoming their fear of speaking in public, and become more effective in their communication. The course has been fun, interesting and at times even enlightening. An experience I would like to recommend to anyone, in particular to those who may think they will never be able to prepare a speech, possibly because - like me - are not native English speakers. But even if you think that it would be unlikely that you would ever deliver a public speech, I still recommend the course for it offers massive value in improving your self-awareness and communication skills. The teacher Ellie was very friendly and supported me in any way necessary! She helped me to improve my presentation skills and pronounce terms accurately.
