Very fascinating to see such an old church. Interesting to see a mix of old and new viking art on the outside and inside of the church

Oldest Stave churches in Norway and beautifully maintained. Try to catch the short tour.

Wow, you really get a sense of history when visiting this church! And the craftsmanship of people using only hand tools is astonishing. The church is only 1km from the ferry landing, but it is a steep uphill climb. The site is well worth the effort though.

Amazing place to see and highly recommended. Views of the surrounding fjord are incredible. Plenty of other reviews go into the history, I'll simply say that this should be seen once in your life. That stated, the climb from the ferry was about 400ft over a mile, so be prepared.

Beautiful church in a very scenic location. It is really amazing to be standing in a building this old. The church had wonderful architecture and admission includes a guided tour that offers a little extra info but is mainly useful if you don't like reading the leaflet. Admission price is a little steep though.

Oldest stave church in Norway. A historic site in UNESCO list. Good walking ground to explore. Nice little gift shop at the end of the road offers some reading materials and souvenirs about the church. It is historic, more about when it was built and how it was maintained throughout the years. Wonderful piece of Norway history. A must see if you happen to be in the area. The ride to the church is very nice as well with the view of the fiorjd...

This iconic stave church has the most famous wood carved portal in Norway. Well worth the trip if you enjoy churches or really old wood craftmanship. The museum exhibition is also nice.

Great place in a great location. Remember that the last ferry is at 6pm, or you'll have to take a long detour, though beautiful
