Deplorable service. Food was good not stellar. There are so many great places to eat dim sum with way better customer service in the Lower Mainland, I’m not returning to Little Bird. The front of the house. Big SIGH. We were treated like we were dining at a high school cafeteria. “Here are the ground rules that you need to follow” was our welcome. They never offered us condiments, never checked to see if we needed anything else, told us to remove our person items on a shelf in our seating area as if we were the nerdy kids sitting at the jock lunch table. It’s too bad the customer service was so deplorable because the kitchen staff really turned it out. The bean curd rolls were the best of what we ordered. Nothing was inventive or had the nuance flavouring that you get from traditional dim sum places but the food was served hot and flavourful. Unfortunately the front of the house turned tastiness to bitterness on our palates.

If you love Dim Sum you will love this place. Staff are friendly and helpful. Dim sum dishes are great. I asked for X.O. sauce and the staff have no clue what it was. I would recommend the Little Birds to anyone.

I came here with somewhat high expectations considering the good reviews but left quite disappointed. High prices and small portions but I guess that's kits for you. I'm a little appalled at all the Asian reviewers leaving good reviews... If you think this place is good compared to an authentic dim sum place (too many to name in east van) you must be smoking opium or something... If you're going to make something traditional ew and hip\... Do something that sets you apart from the rest (just having beer is not it).. and at least offer value in portion to price ratio. I guess the saying is true.. if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it.

I went there for the first time Saturday night and let me tell you that it wasn't the best service experience of my life. The server and the host were awfully rude. The restaurant was empty and we felt abandoned. When the food came to the table, both of the employees dropped it on the edge and left as quick as possible, without explaining which food was which or what were the different sauces. I have a nut allergie so it didn't make it easy on me! The man hosting was particularly rude and not understanding. I work in the industry so I understand the covid restriction and that it is necessary to go beyond and above to make sure everyone is safe but there are ways to do it. The male host told us at the end that it was contactless debit only and that we had to let him know how much we wanted to tip him and he would do it for us, in order to not have to clean the machine every time.... wow. I felt obliged and really disappointed because it could be so much better if the staff were nice and properly trained. Especially because the food and the beer was good.
