Absolutely Fabulous experience. If you have even the smallest appreciation of British aviation (mostly but not only Spitfire) you will cherish a day close to some iconic planes. You will learn how they are lovingly meticulously restored and also pickup some amazing info about the RAF in WWII. Now, I'm saving money for the next dream, a flight in a Spitfire....

Booked a hanger tour and sit in a spit for my husbands birthday and it did not disappoint. We had a fantastic guide Austin who knew everything there was to know about the many aircraft in the hangers and had many tales to tell. We got to sit in a spitfire at the end and that was an amazing experience even thou we weren't airborne!! To top if off the Red Arrows were in residence to take off for armed forces day what a fantastic sound and to see them take off. In all it was a great experience and we would recommend it.

Fantastic visit, the Hangar guided tour was brilliant, very knowledgable and friendly chap. Managed to see both of the active 2 seat Spitfires starting up an we we’re fortunate enough to Fly alongside a Spitfire and get some brilliant in flight photos that shows her of in her natural environment, thoroughly recommend a visit and if you can either fly in a Spitfire or fly alongside one go for it. 5 Stars.

A huge thanks to Austin and all the staff at Biggin Hill. It was a terrific couple of hours spent finding our so much about the role of the Spitfire and other aircraft in WWII. The amount of information provided was terrific; the content and style of Austin's presentation was just perfect; and seeing several Spitfires close up, including two take off and lands, was just incredible.

Well worth taking a tour of this place if you have even the slightest interest in the Spitfire or Hurricane. Guided tours are very reasonable, however a flight in a Spitfire is over 2,500! If you can justify the cost (or get someone else to buy it for you) you must do it. It will be an unforgettable experience. Tour guide very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the planes, the pilots and the history of the airfield; which makes the tour all the more enjoyable. Expect to have around 10 to 12 people on a tour with you. Not a lot of walking required as there are only a couple of hangars and everything's quite closely packed. Saw one of the Spitfires take off and land whilst we were there, always a pleasure to hear that engine start up.
