Always a pleasure to visit this gorgeously scenic coastal area. In terms of current times it is a shame the human race have no idea how to read well placed signs for one-way entrances or footpaths. Such as the main bridge leading towards the Abbey. Otherwise a lovely place to visit and no fault of Whitby for people who skipped reading classes during their time at school

Great atmosphere, quintessential English seaside, beach and harbour. New and old Whitby on either side of 100 year old bridge. Lovely walks down past the lighthouses or along the cliffs. And a wonderful old Abby on top box the hill if you can get up the steps.

Visited in August of this year. It is a lovely place to visit plenty to enjoy for all the members of the family. A good British seaside resort. The beach was very clean with a sand which allows you to walk on it with ease.

Whitby is simply beautiful, atmospheric and quaint. You can spend so much time visiting the attractions that you don't see the beach to the north of the harbour. Worth a visit.

I have visited Whitby many time with work and never really had time to investigate what it has to offer. This week we visited while on holiday nearby and I was amazed at how many hidden gems I had missed previously. It really is a full day's adventure to investigate all of the nooks and crannies but we'll worth it. Very highly recommended.

Great place, great vista, great people (great seafood platter, service and of course many on tap beverages at the Board Inn where dogs are welcome too. Lovely landlady and landlord and helpful staff). If you are able, the walk to SandsEnd is worth it

Wonderful seaside town, so much to see and do. The Sun Inn is good for food and is dog friendly! Would thoroughly recommend. Also the Marina car park is free on all the Sundays leading up to Christmas between 10.30-4pm for Christmas shopping!

The surrounding steps would benefit from a clean and maybe some discreet non slip material adding as they are rather slippy when wet. Great to take the dogs out of normal season whatever the weather.
