If you are doing the walk on hadrianswallpath you have to stopp over at the Hope and Anchor! The rooms are nice and Fran the owner welcomed us so warm and friendly. Also if you just visit the pub it's great and offers different sorts of craft beer. The citchen there is unbelievable delicious diners same as the breakfast!

Nice 'heart of the village' type pub that sells papers and other necessary bits you might need. Beer is good and the food excellent. We'll be back for more... definitely
Wide open space. Car boot to wander through on Thursday. Lots of cafes etc. Shower play area for the kids plus miniature land train. Fish and chips whilst you walk. Great
